our story

This all started with a young man who wanted to go hunting, bird hunting. I was in my early 20's when I had the opportunity to hunt with Trapper 1, our first Brittany. Trapper 1 was given to my "to-be father-in-law" by a young man in his hunting club who had raised and trained Trapper to be an Upland bird hunting dog and what a hunting dog he was! The young man got a job in the city and could not take his pride and joy with him.

Every chance I had during hunting season that I could get out with Trapper, we were out. Black River game preserve in Chester, New Jersey was our destination. I can not tell you how many times we would watch the droves of hunters walk through the fields, come up empty handed and seconds later Trapper would put multiple birds up. In moments I had my limit and helped hundreds of other hunters to obtain theirs as well.

I had always wanted to breed my dogs, I had several Labs who were perfect, age and inexperience were my undoing, and starting a new family myself!

Trapper 2: I had told my sons hundreds of times about hunting behind a good dog and how Trapper 1 was that. I told them stories where Trapper would go through any obstacle if there was a bird there. He would stop at nothing including climbing trees. My sons decided to find me another Brittany and found one in South Jersey, Brick Township to be exact. He was the runt of the litter, but you would not know that now! Trapper goes about 80 pounds and is every inch muscle!

Ginger: back to my desire to breed dogs, hunting dogs. Trapper had turned out to be such a great companion and even better as a hunting dog. Before I knew it, we were out in the field and Trapper was performing just the way I had hoped. It was at this time I thought lets get another Brittany, a Female and start breeding. Days after Trapper was home from training I had broached the subject with Corey Tart, my trainer. Corey asked me if I was serious, I was. Corey then told me he had found a pair of female brittanys for sale in Georgia. He would go down to Georgia to evaluate the pair and send me photos because I wanted Just the Right coloring, Orange and white with the perfect patterns. Corey did not disappoint, he found the pair of girls, sent me pictures, and Ginger was on her way home.

Corey and his wife stopped by with the little girl, it was then her name became evident, Miss Cuddles. Ginger has and still is the cuddler, she will melt in your arms and on your lap in seconds, she always finds a way to be close to you and looking up at you with those eyes. Yes you are done, taken in and her muse.

Not long after Ginger's arrival, she was off to be trained by Corey. He was now in Michigan, a short Seventeen hour drive. Ginger was only out with Corey for a short time when COVID happened. Corey did not want to expose his Kennel to COVID and asked that I let him keep Ginger with him, he would continue to train her and use her as a guide dog if possible. Five years later, Ginger was the Guide dog to be reckoned with. Corey would tell me stories where she would run circles around the other dogs. She really turned out to be a great bird dog as well.

Now with my two dogs, both trained and loving the field as well as "lap time" when they are home. Ginger and Trapper enjoy all the comforts of home. They both enjoy laying around on the couches when the wood stove is going and at the same time Trapper diving through the snow when he gets a chance.

This past April I bred Trapper and Ginger and in June I was given the gift of Puppies! Seven little cuties, three males and four females! My goal is to breed the very best in companions and hunting dogs. I want to share the experiences I have been blessed with, with others.
